The Cold War

The course analyses the main trends of US-Soviet Union political, cultural, economic, military and social relations during the Cold War period (1946-1991). Special attention is given to the personal participation of national leaders from Stalin/Truman to Gorbachev/Reagan in the decision making process. Students can use course website which includes vast material such as documentary data, primary sources, film/video materials, memoirs etc. Basic monographs are enclosed.
Students are supposed to prepare their own project (research) using course materials.
