The Fifth Annual Smolny International Student Conference.

The program of the Smolny Conference includes sectional reports and roundtable discussions, a plenary session with leading scholars and teachers from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, workshops with the participation of representatives of master’s programs from the Program “Arts and Humanities”, presentations of the best master’s projects, as well as film screenings, photo gallery and other creative presentations that unite students from different educational institutions within Russia and abroad.

  • International Relation & Political Science
  • Mathematics and Information Technology
  • General Science

Areas of focus for workshops with the participation of representatives of master’s programs:

  • Art Criticism
  • Cognitive Studies
  • Curatorial Studies
  • Intercultural Education
  • Musical Criticism 
  • Complex Systems
  • Social Communication

Students, post-graduate students, and young scholars up to 35 years old (who do not have post-graduate degrees) specializing in different fields of the arts and sciences are invited to participate in the conference. The conference requires that the participant be physically present. An applicant can only submit one application for the conference and must select the area of focus for a sectional report or workshop which is of interest to the applicant. Priority for participation in workshops is given to students of the third and fourth year, or bachelor graduates who plan to continue their studies in a master’s program.
