The course is based on an interdisciplinary approach that will allow students to get acquainted with the main historical events of the 1960s, the changing spectrum of ideas that largely determined the history of the end of the 20th century. The course is provided with extensive illustrative and analytical material: examples from fiction, journalism, pop lyrics, television series, and feature films of the second half of the 20th century. The course is taught by two professors who specialize in history and literary studies correspondingly.
