Freedom provides opportunities. The ability to make a choice and bear responsibility for your decision is one of the most important qualities of a conscious person. The Liberal Arts and Sciences Program gives students the freedom to make their own choice. This is freedom, which can be used properly. Why is this important? Because here you can set your own priorities—do you want to take more academic or applied courses? Do you wish to join an existing club or create a new one? Perhaps you want to organize an event at the Faculty? All of these opportunities are available to you at the Faculty.
The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences is a community consisting of people who are open, proactive, and passionate about what they do. I am grateful to the Faculty for excellent teachers who helped me reveal my potential, and for likeminded friends with whom we were able to implement what appeared to be, at first, many crazy ideas.
Studying in the program also contributed to my professional development. Over the course of four years, I participated in many international conferences, worked on grants, and also competed in debates conducted in English. This opened doors to the strongest master's programs in Russia and abroad, and it also turned out be incredibly helpful when applying to a job. Here's my message to freshmen: everything that you do at the Faculty will definitely come in useful, even if you don't yet realize it.
To sum up: Liberal Arts and Sciences is a modern program that takes the best from domestic and foreign educational practices.
