6 credits
2nd year of study
Fall semester
The course teaches students the skills for the analysis and realization of new media curatorial projects. It looks into the history of new media art through the key electronic communication technologies: telephone, television, radio, satellite, computer, and includes an analysis of the multimodal, procedural work of art. The course aims to reveal the continuity between the avant-garde art of the twentieth century and contemporary media art and allows one to see the history of technology as a part of the history of art and thought.
