Russian-American Relations from the Historical Perspective

The main content of the course is the analysis of the relations between Russia and the United States in their historical retrospective. The current state of the Russian-American interaction is analyzed in the contexts of diplomatic traditions, cycles of technological transfers and development of the mutual images. Within the course students will examine every aspect of the relations on the different stages and try to find the patterns of the relations. At the final discussion students will attempt to create a policy recommendation based on the knowledge from the course that would be useful for the policy-makers and pundits in both countries.
