Stepanov
Reseacher, Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and Practices in the Field of Arts, Ph. D. in Art History (kandidat nauk)

Author of numerous books on Albrecht Dürer, Lucas Cranach, and Italian Renaissance Art. Published articles on individual works by Campin, Bruegel, Giorgione, and Warhol. An expert on the architecture of St. Petersburg having worked at town-planning research institutions for 25 years. Author of numerous academic works, regulatory developments, and applied research methods in the field of town-planning. Courses taught focus on the following themes: polemics with historicism and large scale art history doctrines, classic art as a standard of artistic preference, classical and non-classical elements in Western European art, and the preliminary study of historical-cultural alienation in architecture. Methodology of the courses is essentially eclectic with an emphasis on phenomenology.
